Visting Washington, D.C

For our 5th Anniversary, Nathan surprised me with a trip to Washington, D.C. The weather was hot, the activities were fun, the blisters hurt, but we still had a wonderful time!
I have a lot of pictures uploaded, so be warned!

This is the hotel where we stayed. It's located on Lafayette Square, nearly a block from the White House. Excellent location!
I, of course, had to take a few pictures of the inside of the room.
Fanciest place I have ever been!

The first night we were there, we went on a Moonlight Tour. It's a two 1/2 hour tour and our tour guide was Grumpy. It was very interesting and a gorgeous night!

The following are a few stops on our tour.

This is the Old Union Station.

Christopher Columbus Memorial

Library of Congress-all the books inside, if layed out, would stretch out over 6,000 miles.
Can you imagine?

Since Nathan and I are teachers, we thought it would be appropriate to take a picture of the Department of Education.
This is the Old Time Trolley our tour was on.

Iwo Jima Memorial--Marine Corps Memorial

Abraham Lincoln Memorial
This would be Abraham Lincoln :)

The White House
Arlington House
Robert E. Lee Memorial

Sugarland/Keith Urban Concert (My best time)

Towards the end of the concert, a security guard came up to our row and asked me and two others to step out onto the steps. Meanwhile other security guards came and placed a table over our seats.
Soon after KEITH URBAN CAME UP TO OUR SEATS AND SANG!! SERIOUSLY, WE WERE WITHIN A FOOT FROM HIM!
So much fun. See if you can spot Nathan in the lower left corner.
